The Anoushka Shankar experience at the Chan Centre this past August 10 was unbelievably ecstatic and beautiful. The whole experience from arriving at the auditorium, rehearsal, performance, to watching the show, to meeting the band, was mind-blowing! It's already three days after and I'm still buzzed from it. I've gained a fresh, new perspective and inspiration about Indian music thanks to everyone involved. Everyone in Anoushka's band was amazingly kind and of course amazingly monstrous on their instruments. Ah, man. And Anoushka was beyond this universe with the Sitar. And the fact that she was a total babe made it all the more wonderful! We in Dharmakasa were truly blessed to have the opportunity to meet Anoushka and her band.
